Elliot is "of counsel" in the Law Offices of Mark Grotewohl. Elliot has retired from a successful family law litigation practice. While his law office was located in Sacramento, he litigated cases in most counties in Northern California, including Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, and Amador.
Elliot earned his bachelor's degree form the University of San Francisco and his JD from Lincoln Law School in 1974. From 1976-1992, Elliot was a professor of law at Lincoln Law School and has served as a Judge Pro Tem in the Sacramento Municipal Court, the Sacramento Superior Court; Family Law Department, the Placer County Superior Court, and the El Dorado County Superior Court. Elliot is a member of the State Bar of California and, since 1994, has held the highest rating by Martindale-Hubbell, in family law, as AV-Preeminent.

When not spending time with his wife Andi and their three adult children and eight grandchildren, Elliot can be found riding his BMW K1200GT motorcycle, on the golf course, traveling the world, or at an opera.
