Mark P. Grotewohl
Mark limits his practice exclusively to family law and has represented hundreds of clients in all areas of family practice, ranging from the most straightforward disputes over child custody and support to those involving complex issues of community property valuation and characterization. Regardless of the issue, Mark considers the unique facts and circumstances of each case to identify the most effective strategy for resolution. While a negotiated settlement is the best approach in many cases, others require a trial of the disputed issues to achieve a complete resolution. Mark is adept in using either, or a combination of both, to achieve the best outcome for his clients.
Between 1999 and 2009, Mark was a partner in a San Francisco based real estate investment firm. He attributes his effectiveness as a family lawyer in large part to the analytical and negotiation skills he employed on a daily basis managing a real estate portfolio with a value in excess of $25 million.
Mark earned his bachelor’s degree at the University California, Berkeley and Masters in Business Administration at Pepperdine University. He earned his JD from Lincoln Law School in Sacramento, CA. He is a member of the Family Law Sections of the State Bar of California and Sacramento County Bar Association.
Mark and his wife Elizabeth have been married for 33 years and have four children. When not practicing law, Mark is likely to be found either on the golf course or sailing a boat on the San Francisco Bay.
